Shopping in Beach Rd

Beach Road has evolved over the last few years to become a hub of activity.  Kaikoura Bakery is popular with both locals and tourists alike with its delicious range of pies, filled rolls and sweet treats.  Set back off the road by the railway overbridge is the newly renovated Kaikoura Surf, with the latest hot surf labels, as well as boards and a wide range of funky accessories.  Just along from this is The Candy Shack a quaint old-fashioned shop with a tempting array of treats, including favourites such as aniseed balls and raspberry drops.

Further along is Cods and Crayfish, an excellent fresh seafood retail shop, with a huge variety of fresh fish and seafood, and on the other side of the road, Henry’s is a friendly and well-stocked liquor store with very competitive prices.

At the northern end of Beach Road, is The Top Shop, offering takeaway foods, ice cream and general groceries.
