Fire, Accident and other Emergencies Warning Sounds
The fire, accident and other emergencies warning is a continuous undulating siren at the Kaikoura Fire Station. It lasts for 3-4 minutes usually. Civil Defence uses the same siren. It will sound for at least 10 minutes and be switched on and off at 30 second intervals.This is the signal that there is or about to be a CIVIL DEFENCE EMERGENCY.
Details will be broadcast on the local Kaikoura radio station as soon as possible on Blue FM 100.3 fm.
