The Mt Lyford Alpine Resort is a major asset to the Kaikoura region, with a range of accommodation having been developed on the mountain.
The skifield has a range of terrain enhanced with the Wild Ride Terrain Park with a range of rails, quarter pipes and kickers.
Two new kickers and the R & R Sport Half Pipe have been opened up recently.
There is also the Boarder Cross and Alpine Coaching on offer.
The Mt Lyford Alpine Resort has an on mountain ski and snowboard school, ski and board hire, and a cosy cafe.

Location: On Highway 70 an hour and a half drive north from Christchurch to the Mt Lyford Log Chalet Village, 50 minutes drive from Hanmer, 50 minutes drive from Kaikoura, only 20 minute drive to the ski area through picturesque native bush from the Mt Lyford Log Chalet Village
